Sponsorships

Let Us Move Mountains provides partial or full sponsorships to children and young adults from the Kyarusozi area. Our sponsorships invest in the next generation, trusting that education will allow young people to be empowered for their own flourishing. All schools, even government ones, require tuition in Uganda. Our education scholarships make it possible for many children, teens, and young adults to attend primary school, secondary school, vocational school, or university. Additionally, LUMM team members are encouraged and supported to continue their education at the university level.

Meet Our Graduates

Tugume Joseph "Buka" - Born and raised in Kyarusozi, Buka holds a Diploma in Public Administration at Mountains of the Moon University. Buka is serving his community by directing day-to-day operations of LUMM as our Deputy Director. Buka has been with LUMM since 2017. In addition to his hard work as part of our team, he is also completing his bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Management at Mountains of the Moon.

Atukwase Lambert is a resident of Kyarusozi Town Council. Lambert has passion for the Catholic Church and is very friendly. Lambert is a graduate of Makerere University with a Bachelors of Science in Quantitative Economics.

Kasande Olive is a resident of Kyarusozi Kigoyera Sub-county. She graduated with a degree in Business administration from Kyambogo University Kampala Uganda. In 2018, she worked with LUMM for 8 months, and she is now working with Opportunity Bank at the Masaka branch.

Kaihura Emmanuel - Emma graduated in 2018 with a Diploma in Microfinance Management, and he is soon earning his bachelor’s from Mountains of the Moon University in Business Administration Accounting. Emma is also a resident of Nsinde Kyarusozi Towncouncil. In addition to his impressive schoolwork, Emma is the Finance Manager for LUMM.

Kanyunyuzi Jacinta is a resident of Kyarusozi Town Council, and she graduated with a certificate in hairdressing from our partner in Kyarusozi “St. JohnBosco Vocational Technical school” in 2019. She is doing her internship in a well-known salon in Kyarusozi, and she hopes to start up her own salon someday.

Apino Jackylin is a resident of Kyarusozi. She completed her Diploma in Clinical Medicine from Kabaale Institute of Health Science in 2019. Once she receives her official documentation, she will begin working as a nurse.

Kaahwa Peter is from a subcounty of Kyembogo, a few miles away from Kyarusozi. Peter was sponsored by LUMM to complete his secondary education at the O Level. He is hoping to continue his education in upper high school. Peter enjoys watching football outside of work and spending time with friends, new and old. You may have seen Peter elsewhere on our website - he is giving back to LUMM as our interim secretary!

Monday Steven is a resident of Kyarusozi Town Council. He completed his Certificate in Electrical Installation from Uganda Martyrs University in Fort Portal City way back in 2018. He is self-employed, running an electrical equipment shop in Kyarusozi, Kyenjojo, and we are happy to report his business is doing well.

She finished her classes at our partner, St. John Bosco, and she will be graduating in August with certificates in Early Childhood Development and Hair Dressing as well. She is plaiting hair from her home, and she hopes to continue with upgrading her hair styling business. Goret is supporting her siblings with school supplies and fees.

Tuhaise Marion - Marion is currently pursuing a two-year certificate in nursery teaching. Despite the recurring lockdowns in Uganda, Marion stays focused and she also said that when she finishes her certificate she would like to continue on to a bachelor's degree in her profession. Marion enjoys tutoring children.

Narora Selevester stays in Kibale Kyarusozi Town Council. Selevester is a Grade IV teacher by profession. He graduated from St. Augustin’s College in Butiti, Kyenjojo. He is now teaching at Trinity Schools in Kyarusozi Town Council.

Uwiholeye Ezra is a resident of Katambale Kyarusozi Town Council. He finished his diploma in floriculture in 2018 at Mountains of the Moon University in Fort Portal, Uganda.

She graduated with a certificate in Hairdressing from our partner school St. John Bosco Vocational and Technical Institute. She sat for her final exams at Mityana Central Institute, a national center for vocation exams. Moreen is perfecting her skills and is hoping to open up her own salon sometime soon.
